Taliban Attack Afghan City as They Talk Peace With U.S.

KUNDUZ, Afghanistan — Taliban militants have launched an attack from several directions on the northern Afghan city of Kunduz, which they have occupied twice in recent years, even as the insurgents seemed close to a preliminary peace agreement with American diplomats.
