Leader’s Death Will Damage ISIS, but Not Destroy It



Before the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the Islamic State had decentralized, allowing followers and franchises to carry out its violent ideology on their own. He had been hunted for more than a decade, and the organization he had built was designed partly on the assumption this day would come.
