Public Spaces Weren’t Designed for Pandemics. N.Y.C. Is Trying to Adapt.



New rules and design will try to keep New Yorkers safe in the usually crowded plazas, parks and streets. There are calls for one-way sidewalks on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where the concrete is too narrow to keep people six feet apart.
